The Yunnan-Guizhou plateau, with its layered peaks and misty air, has — thanks to its unique natural environment — nurtured countless precious medicinal herbs. Generations of Yi ancestors lived off the land, treating ailments with herbs. Over centuries, they discovered, combined, and passed down countless folk formulas for rheumatic pain, joint swelling, gout, and injuries — becoming a shining ethnic treasure in China's medical heritage.
In 1997, with the vision of preserving Yi ethnic medicine and benefiting public health,
Gaoyuan Yiyao was established on the plateau.
We deeply understand: good medicine comes from good mountains, good herbs, good formulas, and good craftsmanship. Since our founding, our team has ventured deep into Yi villages, visited elderly Yi doctors and folk herbalists, collected and organized scattered millennial formulas for joint and bone health — distilling the essence, faithfully restoring ancient methods, and combining them with modern pharmaceutical standards. This allows ancient Yi formulas, once passed down only orally, to enter the market as standardized, regulated products.
Our Three Founding Principles
Preserve the Heritage
Inherit Yi ethnic medical culture, keeping ancient formula integrity intact, without alteration or simplification
Choose Authentic Herbs
Insist on Yunnan-Guizhou plateau native herbs, harvested seasonally to preserve their true potency
Craft with Conscience
Strict quality control from raw material to finished product, upholding our 1997 founding spirit
Time refines both character and craftsmanship. Over more than three decades, Gaoyuan Yiyao has meticulously developed three signature products:
Fufang Shenjin Capsule — targets damp-heat gout and swollen joints, promoting circulation and removing phlegm;
Qingbi Tongluo Herbal Wine — wine carries medicine through the channels, relieving rheumatism and joint stiffness;
Fufang Xueteng Herbal Wine — inherits Yi sprain treatment formula, invigorating blood and relieving pain, for internal and external use.
From mountain formulas to life-changing medicine, from 1997 to today, Gaoyuan Yiyao remains unchanged: drawing plateau essence, inheriting a thousand years of Yi medicine, crafting timeless formulas, protecting bone and joint health.
Looking ahead, we will continue to root ourselves in the plateau, preserve our cultural heritage, ensure Yi ethnic medical wisdom endures for generations — protecting more families from bone and joint ailments, so they can move freely and live in good health.
